Lately I've been seing more bottles of the
Roncier Rouge, an inexpensive non vintage red Burgundy (again, pinot noir). I really loved the Blanc version, but found that it lost its fruit over time. I'm not sure if they're making more of this or if it's old stock. The idea behind Roncier is that they take a lot of leftover grapes from decent wineries throughout Burgundy, and then package it as an inexpensive table wine. The rouge has held up well enough--still a lot of good fruit flavors, and it benefits from just a little breathing. $10.
