2005 Viña Alarba Old Vines Grenache

2005 Viña Alarba Old Vines Grenache, Calatayud, Spain. Around $8. Cherry aromas and flavors, with some medium tannins and the faint hint of cinnamon. A great everyday red which I served with a Greek pizza.

what goes on a greek pizza besides feta cheese?

It was this pizza from Zpizza up in Cordova: feta cheese, mozzarella, red onions, kalamata olives, tomatoes, oregano. Pretty decent pizza there, lots of organic ingredients. The one with lots of mushrooms and a bit of truffle oil is amazing.

I like this wine. I find it funny they label it Grenache instead of Garnacha.

We have been drinking a ton of Spanish wine lately. It seems everyone in town has them on sale due the Memphis In May.

I vote for France, Italy or Australia to be the country next year.
