Tasting Side Note

There might not be any large wine tasting notes in the next two weeks--my usual places are taking a break, though I'll probably stumble into something before the end of the month. I will continue to post notes on the wines I drink and serve for friends, and might expand a bit with some beer or liquor reviews depending on what I'm in the mood for.

I am a 54 year old woman new to wine (just a few years), and who knows precisely less than nothing about it, but who knows what she likes. And I do like this little syrah. I am having a glass now, late at night, in California, with some cheese and a decent french style baguette from Henry's market, and it just hits the spot.

Your blog is very interesting and readable. :) (shades of your fifth sentence thing - 'drinkable'). I especially loved the entry about the cheese and Italian wine and the mass on Christmas day.

Best to you,
Bonnie

Purchased Crane Lake Cellars Petite Sirah 2003 at local Virginia chain pharmacy for $4.99. Found it to be rich, deep and smooth. Superb!
