If you've got it in your area, run through the Unibroue beers from Canada, like La Fin du Monde and Maudite. Anything from Dogfish Head is a great beer education in a bottle.

Cheers,
BenitoBenitohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15642446480589939085noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10338337.post-19495582511266999832010-05-16T10:41:13.589-07:002010-05-16T10:41:13.589-07:00Interesting article showing curious marketing phen...Interesting article showing curious marketing phenomenon in the country centered around firefighters.Tommyhttp://www.rbhealthandsafety.co.uknoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10338337.post-55270462679574106842010-05-16T07:29:15.094-07:002010-05-16T07:29:15.094-07:00Benito - Glad to see you focusing on craft/non-mac...Benito - Glad to see you focusing on craft/non-macro beer. It's been a while sine I've posted, but I still read the site quite often. I found my palate switching from wine to beer sometime in February and have been focusing there for the past few months (I'm not the best multi-tasker).

I'm new to beer, so I'm still trying to find what styles I like best. For now I'd say Tripels and German style Marzens are tops. I tend to like a good mix of hops and malts, but with a touch of spice. Brews like Sam Adams Boston Lager on steroids. Any suggestions?Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09490985690542512027noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10338337.post-74178924790273488562010-05-09T02:41:26.469-07:002010-05-09T02:41:26.469-07:00hmm seems interesting. There doesn't appear to be any direct relationship between the two companies, but it's yet another little oddity. You very rarely find wine and beer sharing the same name, except for perhaps Miller: "The Champagne of Beers". ;)

Cheers,
BenitoBenitohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15642446480589939085noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10338337.post-29005187734861628592010-05-07T06:13:05.789-07:002010-05-07T06:13:05.789-07:00To add to the fount of firefighter related fun, Ce...To add to the fount of firefighter related fun, Cecil Deloach makes his Russian River Valley wines under the name Hook & Ladder Vineyards nowadays. After losing the Deloach name in a takeover of his eponymous winery, he decided to hearken back to his pre-winemaking days as a Fire Chief in San Francisco. The wines are unfailingly excellent values across the whole lineup, with the Gewurz being a particular standout.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
