Mostly I was glad to satisfy my curiosity.<br /><br />Some other foods more famous in literature than in modern American life: <br /><br />The Turkish Delight in <i>The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe</i> (I've had it, not terribly impressed)<br /><br />Hard tack in various seafaring or Civil War novels<br /><br />Maple candy, vinegar pie, horehound candy, any number of things from <i>Little House on the Prairie</i><br />Other suggestions? A throwaway line about a dish that you've never had but always remembered from a book?
