But you can order the set of 9 from my Amazon link if you like. It's a great sampler, and in full disclosure I get a small commission.

Vermouth is harder. The best you can get in Memphis without a special order is Noilly Prat, both red and white. Avoid Cinzano and the Martini & Rossi stuff, even the Noilly isn't that expensive. If you can find it, look for Quady Vya Extra Dry or other small producers.

Cheers,
BenitoBenitohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15642446480589939085noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10338337.post-17658465989045137012010-04-15T17:01:13.689-07:002010-04-15T17:01:13.689-07:00Benito or Frederic

Now, I work in the gulf and on the GA and SC coasts quite a bit, so I'm biased. Oysters were too big and gamey, sourdough bread is a sin w/ a poboy, but I applaud the effort. Oh, had a Greyhound too. You'll feel practically naked when you walk out of the house, but trust me, it works.

As for the cocktails, I'm big on the classics and those using good quality ingredients. You can skim through my previous posts and see some neat ones like the Pegu Club that can appeal to wine drinkers because of their complexity and balance, not just a mechanism for getting booze in your belly.

Cheers,
BenitoBenitohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15642446480589939085noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10338337.post-1549714531949011332010-04-13T18:58:52.681-07:002010-04-13T18:58:52.681-07:00I haven't gone for the pink tie yet. However,...I haven't gone for the pink tie yet. However, being a southern gentlemen who ties his own bowtie, I think a pink one may work with my summer suit. Granted, the weddings have slowed down in my old age.

As far as cocktails are concerned, I usually don't get too involved. A glass of Scotch or Irish Whiskey, maybe a shot of tequila was it. However, after a recent visit to The Hungry Cat in Los Angeles, with the use of fresh squeezed juices and premium booze, I may have to expand my liquor cabinet (currently containing nothing more than Scotch and tequila). These drinks you made look awesome, if not ones that would incite ridicule if consumed among the roughneck suburban crowd.Joehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11188665746443591632noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10338337.post-85002346155519751332010-04-13T18:41:06.146-07:002010-04-13T18:41:06.146-07:00Michael,

I found when I wore it in public I got compliments all over the place. I'm talking, women would cross the room to come over and say it looked nice. Nothing to be afraid of here, gentlemen, it can actually work to your advantage.

Cheers,
BenitoBenitohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15642446480589939085noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10338337.post-72465977592657232732010-04-13T16:46:17.837-07:002010-04-13T16:46:17.837-07:00I'm also a big fan of Pinky.
